Sharon Golder

Sharon Golder is a dedicated special education advocate, educator, and co-founder of Education for All, with more than 25 years of experience supporting students, families, and schools throughout Connecticut. She is passionate about helping families navigate the special education process and ensuring that students receive the services, supports, and educational opportunities they need to succeed.

Throughout her career, Sharon has served in a variety of educational and leadership roles, including Special Education Teacher, Project Coordinator, Consultant, Facilitator, and Director of Educational Consultants of Connecticut (ECCONN). Her expertise includes special education advocacy, IEP development and implementation, family-centered planning, collaborative problem-solving, and person-centered planning. She has extensive experience helping families understand their rights, preparing for Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, reviewing evaluations and IEPs, and fostering productive collaboration between families and school teams.

Known for her compassionate and collaborative approach, Sharon helps families navigate challenging situations with confidence and clarity. Families and colleagues value her deep understanding of special education systems, strong advocacy skills, and unwavering commitment to helping students reach their full potential.

Sharon has served as President and Executive Board Member of the Connecticut Council for Exceptional Children and has contributed to statewide initiatives supporting inclusive practices and family-school partnerships. Through Education for All, she continues her mission of empowering families and advocating for equitable educational opportunities for students with disabilities.

As co-founders of Education for All, Sharon Golder and Laurie Slade are committed to empowering families, advocating for students with disabilities, and helping ensure that every child receives the individualized support and educational opportunities they deserve.
